What is preciseWriter.ai?
preciseWriter.ai is an adaptive autosuggest and text-expansion tool that runs locally on Windows. It learns your vocabulary over time and delivers precise phrase completions at your cursor, keeping your fingers on the home row.
Who is preciseWriter.ai for?
Anyone who types professionally — doctors, lawyers, scientists, government workers, corporate managers, students, and teachers. If you type specialized terminology regularly, preciseWriter.ai will dramatically reduce your effort.
How long does it take to learn?
Most users are meaningfully faster within 15–30 minutes. Full proficiency, where muscle memory kicks in, typically takes 3–5 days of regular use.
Does it work with my existing software?
Yes. preciseWriter.ai integrates at the Windows OS level, so it works in virtually every application: Microsoft Office, Google Chrome, Firefox, Outlook, Notepad, proprietary EHR systems, legal databases, and thousands more.
Is there a MacOS version?
Not yet. Sole Proprietorship is actively developing a MacOS version. Visit the Support page to sign up for early access notifications.

How does the autocomplete suggestion list appear?
After you type 3–4 characters, a short list (maximum 4 suggestions) appears just below your cursor. You never have to look away from the screen. Select with your right pinky finger using the Shift key combinations.
What are the 1–2 character shortcuts?
Common short words (prepositions, conjunctions, articles) are given ultra-short shortcuts: "t" expands to "the", "f" to "for", "tt" to "that", "wn" to "when". The rule is either the first letter, or the first and last letter of the word.
How does the underscore search work?
Typing an underscore "_" tells preciseWriter.ai to match characters at the end of a word rather than the beginning, or to act as a wildcard. For example, "Vice Pre_Jo" will find "Vice President Joseph" in your database.
Will my passwords be stored?
No. preciseWriter.ai only automatically captures multi-word phrases. Single words are never added to the database automatically, which means passwords (which are typically one token) are never captured unless you manually add them.
Can I manually edit my database?
Yes. Hotkeys allow you to add or remove entries from your database at any time. You can also review and edit the database file directly using the settings panel.
Does preciseWriter.ai slow down my computer?
No. The software is extremely lightweight and has a negligible CPU and memory footprint. It runs silently in the system tray.
Is it really free for .edu users?
Yes. Lifetime free access is granted to anyone who registers with a verified .edu email address, with no expiration.
How does the 14-day trial work?
Download the software and use it with full access for 14 days. No credit card is required. After 14 days, you'll be prompted to purchase an annual license.
What does the license cost?
An annual license for commercial users is $29.95, paid securely via Stripe. Your license key is delivered by email.
Is there a discount for teams?
Yes. Teams of 20 or more licenses receive a 25% per-seat discount, bringing the cost to $22.46 per seat per year. Contact support@precisewriter.ai for a volume quote.
